Loess Hills (Rock Port, Missouri)

Loess Hills Wind Farm is a 5 MW project adding a renewable power source to the Rock Port, Missouri municipal utility system. Built on agricultural lands within the city limits of Rock Port, four Suzlon 1.25 MW turbines connect directly to the city's high voltage line. Homes and businesses getting power from Rock Port's Municipal Utility will use wind energy, backed by other supply from the Missouri Joint Municipal Utility system. The Loess Hills Wind Farm will produce enough electricity to make Rock Port, Missouri the first community in America capable of meeting its entire annual electricity demands from wind power.
