Cow Branch
The Cow Branch Wind Energy Center is the second utility-scale wind energy generation facility built in Missouri.
Wind Capital Group
completed construction of the 50 megawatt wind farm in early 2008. The
24 Suzlon S-88 wind turbines in the Cow Branch Wind Energy Center have
a nameplate capacity of 50 MW of power that is purchased by Associated
Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AECI), for its member cooperative
utilities. More than 20,000 homes and businesses throughout Missouri
receive renewable electrical energy from the Cow Branch facility.
Transmission service is provided by N.W. Electric Cooperative, Inc.
