Wind
Capital Group developed the Bent Tree Wind Farm site near the city of
Albert Lea in Freeborn County, Minnesota. In early 2009 Wind Capital
Group sold the 400MW construction-ready site to Wisconsin Power and
Light Co. (WPL), an Alliant Energy Company. The Bent Tree wind farm
project area spans over 26,000 acres of land, representing 237
individual Land Lease and Easement Agreements. WPL will complete the
construction of the Bent Tree Wind Farm in two 200 MW phases. The first
phase of construction is anticipated to begin in early 2010. When fully
operational the Bent Tree Wind Farm will generate 400 MW of
electricity, enough to power more than 200,000 homes. |
